The work opens up a dialogue with our relationship to the natural environment through a variety of objects and images that play with the formal manipulation of nature using a combination of industrial and organic materials.

Photography and Performance by Hans Breder

A three time exhibiting artist at the Whitney Biennial, German-born Hans Breder has made a career of creating great performance and photography works, including these fantastic pieces with use of mirrors and the human body. Born in 1935 in Herford, Germany, trained early on in his career in Hamburg but moved to New York City in his late 20s and found increasing success.

Combining this love is Alex Schranz, a LEGO builder who has created a model set of Hill Valley circa 2015 AD from Back to the Future II, complete with flying cars, hover boards, and bunch of other details the year 2015 will not offer us.

Pink Noise @ Parlor Gallery, New Jersey

Parlor Gallery will open a new group show this weekend, “Pink Noise," exploring the overlap of visual art and music on Saturday, February 4. Parlor will showcase some of the best artists inspired by music to create their artwork. Many of the “Pink Noise” artists have made their living in the music industry, with highlights include Mark Mothersbaugh, Thom Lessner and Asbury Park’s Mike McLaughlin’s photographs of chaotic mosh pits.

San Francisco-based artist, Josh Short opens his exhibition Bomb Shelter Radio and Tenderloin Self-Defense Club tonight, February 2nd, 2012 at Evergold Gallery.  The artist is participating in a bi-annual residency program held at the gallery and along with his installations; he will host several live sonic events that will include experimental noise transmissions, live metal and hardcore bands, and subversive FM radio interventions.
