We’re still reeling for this weekend’s release party and art show with Goorin Bros at their 1333 Minna studio space. We showed you some party photos, but now we take a look at some of the beautiful artwork that lined the walls.
Tran Nguyen is an emerging artist out of Los Angeles that we’ve kept an eye on the past few months. Her work borrows elements from classical painting, but she makes sure to infuse her work with modern subject matter. Our friend and Thinkspace gallery owner Andrew Hosner site the young artist down for a chat.
An “alien life force” is plaguing MGMT. No real surprise there. We already mentioned MGMT’s new single release, A Case Of Flash Delirium, last week but the musical pair have released a new coinciding video, featuring a bit of psychotherapy.
David B. Smith (the Insider for our upcoming April 2010 issue) just sent us over a great recap of their time at NYC’s Scope New York Art Fair At Lincoln Center. “We had a wonderful time exhibiting works by Ricky Allman, Jud Bergeron, Christina Empedocles, Gregory Euclide, AJ Fosik, Kris Lewis, Jason Thielke, Kristen Schiele and Oliver Vernon this past week.”
Dan Monick lives and works in Los Angeles. Dan is publishing a book of photos, art directing the L.A. Record, making videos, photographing furniture and bands. Oh yeah, and his new apparel deigns for Spring are hot.
