Issue 16 dropped in the Fall of 1998 and features Beck & Al Hansen, Keith Haring, Iris Polos, and Shepard Fairey (yes, he made a name for himself long before the Obama poster thing). It’s fascinating to not only read an in-depth article on a man that has become the poster-boy for street art in the past few months, but to also take a look at other ‘emerging’ artists (eg David Choe), covered in the issue's Gallery section, that have gone on to dominate in the contemporary art market.
A truly enthralling trip down collective artistic memory lane awaits in the online version of Juxtapoz issue #16.

We got carried away with all the Obama excitement earlier this week, so we’re just now posting up this week’s installment of archived Juxtapoz issues. We’re bringing it back to Issue 12 now, from 1997. A lot happened toward the end of '97: El Niño ripped through the US, Princess Diana died, and Timothy McVeigh was convicted for his role in the Oklahoma City bombing. It wasn’t all bad though, our Issue 12 from the Fall of 1997 featured the artwork of Masami Teraoka, Derek Hess, Chris Mars, John K, and Georganne Deen, as well as our usual offering of other random, albeit interesting, tidbits on the world of underground art. Read up on Issue 12 online here.
Hell yes, it’s another Monday and with it comes a sweet archived issue of Juxtapoz. This week we bring you our 11th edition, featuring interviews and artwork by Coop (on the cover) Ernst Fuchs, Gilbert Sheldon, Don Ed Hardy, Eric White, Krystine Kryttre, Henry Darger, and Jeffrey Valiance.
Go back in time to the Summer of 1997 and get down with Juxtapoz Issue #11 now online right here.

We’re taking it back to the Spring of 1997 when we featured Dave Mann on the cover, along with features on Isabel Samaras, Stanislav Szukalski, Gken Barr, and The Pizz. The theme of this issue is L’art de toilette. Yeah, because you know we keep it classy. So peep the whole issue online here.

Remember the fall of 1996? Perhaps not, but to help jog your memory, that’s when all that weird JonBenet Ramsey stuff went down, Tupac died (or did he?), Bill Clinton was the first Democrat since FDR to be re-elected (and US stock market gained at an incredibly fast pace following that election…yeah, remember those glory days?) and, Juxtapoz Magazine released our 8th issue!
Issue 8 features Todd Schorr on the cover, along with features on Spike Jonze, Anya Janssen, Art Brewer, Aaron Smith, Sandow Brik, Llyn Foulkes, and more. Take a collective walk down memory lane to the glorious fall of ’96 in our full-length issue 8 right this way.

Here’s Juxtapoz issue #3 coming fresh off the press from the summer of 1995. Hmm…what were you doing back in ’95?
