Juxtapoz Blog

Born and raised in Grottaglie (ta), Southern Italy. 15 January 1983. I was studying in Bologna for 5 years and I got a masters degree in semiotics without even understanding what was that about. I've been a graphic designer doing just record covers for bands I liked. I was a thief, I mean, I was stealing things from shopping malls and stuff like that, and then I quit stealing. I moved back south and set up a screenprinting studio. I decided to call it "studio cromie" and since then I've been inviting artists and friends from all over to make something happen in my little town. I'm in love with the place where I live but I'm always happy to find some reasons to travel and escape for a while. It's been 6 years now that I have played in La Quiete. I play bass and I really don’t know how to do it; fortunately punk rock has never asked serious technical skills of me. I love to maximize results while minimizing the efforts, I love food, I distrust tidy people, I hate soccer (or football, as you call it), I'm very fascinated by simplicity of things and hearts. fame festival is what i do during the summer.
last year was the first edition and you can check it out here

i made good friends and a lot of things happened. i think it's all about that, making things happen so that i have stories to tell and feel like i'm doing an interesting life. it's also about creating some movement in this small cute town, Grottaglie, where nothing else then going to the seaside or whatching football games in tv happens.

it's funny and frustrating at the same time. one day is loving it and you feel like all the efforts you're doing are well worth it, some other days they make you think you're wasting your time and all your friends are chilling at the beach

i actually dont give a shit, and, no matter how crazy it sounds, these days i'm trying to make these urban young and cool artists join the traditional old dusty ceramic tradition of the city. let's see what we have so far:

Lucy Mclauchlan vases:

Conor Harrington plates:

Sam3 plates (in progress):

i find these all lovely and refreshing for both the traditional ceramic and the urban art worlds.

more pictures soon.

i've always secretly wanted a blog.

i had one, i was fourteen and i had this girlfriend that really did not love me, the blog was a way to send her subliminal messages, i did'nt tell her i opened it, i was hoping that she would have found it out herself, googling my name or something. she eventually never did. it's an old story we have better things to talk about now.
