One of the cool things that happened at Fita Tape’s opening was that some artists and friends who aren’t from Porto Alegre came to see the gallery’s first exhibition. Two of these people were Fabiano Lokinho and Diogo Disturbios, from São Paulo. Fabiano Lokinho is an ex pro-skater who’s focusing his career on photography and also works as Volcom Brasil art director. He is taking part at the exhibition and is represented by us (noz.art and Fita Tape). Diogo works with him, at Volcom Brasil marketing area, creating and managing art related projects. Both showed us their last creation: a series of portfolio/posters from Brazilian artists that are now sponsored by Volcom. They are working pretty close to 4 artists: Pacolli (previously presented here by Calma), Pjota, Lokinho and Apo Fousek.
I liked the posters and the project a lot, so I felt that would be nice to show it here and I asked Diogo a few questions.
How did you ended at Volcom Brasil, specially working with art projects?
And why these 4 artists? Who chose them? It was a natural process, because we’re close to them and we like their work. Apo Fousek has been working with Volcom for a while, he developed some projects, like exhibitions, t-shirts, posters. He also works with Volcom USA.
Fabiano Lokinho is an ex pro skater and was very close to Volcom. Now he also works in the art team, making ads, photos, design, collages and whatever else.
Pacolli is the newest on the Featured Artist group. She’s part of an international collective (Human Pyramids), which have a member that also works with Volcom USA. When we knew about that, it made sense to add her to the group.
