Luciano Scherer solo show

Yesterday I had the chance to check the opening of Luciano Scherer first solo show at a major gallery (Thomas Cohn, São Paulo). It was just a few minutes before my flight to Porto Alegre, so I had to check everything really quickly. Luckily I did a small interview with Luciano last week for Void website, and it`s a perfect time to translate and publish here. Check out Luciano`s amazing artwork.

Passport Green Project Party

Dalek interview for Vista Magazine

The new issue of Vista magazine just reached the streets. There, I did a 12 pages article + interview with James Marshall, a.k.a. Dalek. I first got in touch with James trough this Juxtapoz network, so, it`s the right place to present it. It`s only in Portuguese, but if you want to read a Dalek interview, here`s a nice one.

Visiting Weaver Lima atelier

Lucas and I went to Fortaleza for the first time last August. There we made some good friends. One of them is Weaver Lima, a great artist and comics lover. I posted about him here.

Fita Tape Gallery/Complexo Master hosted Stephan Calma’s documentary and new Void magazine launching last week. More information here. It was a great party, with the Djs Dazz le Groove and Punkah, and the band Damn Laser Vampires. Check some pictures taken by Giovanni Mad.

Noz na Fita 2009 online catalog

Fita Tape's first exhibition, NOZ na FITA 2009, ends this Sunday. We’re crazy preparing our next show, a Billy Argel’s solo exhibition. Billy is a crucial name for a whole generation of Brazilian artists and designers, and he did all the classic skateboard graphics in Brazil. I’ll post about more about Billy Argel exhibition soon.

Flavio Samelo is taking part of II Forum Interlocuções do Imaginário, a photography forum that starts today in Porto Alegre. The whole program includes 5 exhibitions, focused on urban cultures and including skateboard and street art.

I few time ago I received 2 issues of Prego Magazine, from Alex Vieira.
He also sent me his amazing flipbook, called Medicina Alternayiva. Prego is an independent comics magazine, featuring some of Brazilian masters, as Jaca, and some new names, as Rafael Sicca. Thanks Alex.
