Olaf Hajek "Black Antoinette" @ Gestalten Space, Berlin

In conjunction with a new monograph being published by Gestalten, illustrator Olaf Hajek will be opening an exhibition at Gestalten's space in Berlin this Thursday, July 5. The Germany-based artist will be releasing his second monograph, Black Antoinette, a collection that covers much of his personal, fine artworks, as well as his extensive commercial works for the likes of Rolling Stone, New York Times, the Royal Mail, and Washington Post.

Our good friend and 2x cover artist, Jeremy Fish (who did a nice logo shirt for us this past year), is set to open a new body of work, Where Hearts Get Left, at San Francisco's FIFTY24SF Gallery. Showing at Upper Playground's FIFTY24SF for the first time in 5 years, the exhibition features 60+ new works and is inspired by and created as a visual love letter to the city of San Francisco. Self taught illustrator Rudy-Jan Faber from the Netherlands covers his female figures in tattoos. He work involves bright and colourful themes with some urban, pop-art, lowbrow influences. Up until his teenage years, he primarily illustrated men but then switched to women, which he says is now the main focus of his work.

Blade Runner as Watercolors, Part 1

Apparently, this is Part 1, and there will be more. Somebody who really, really loves Blade Runner (one thing we have learned while at Juxtapoz; people love Super Mario, Legos, Star Wars, and Ridley Scott, but you knew that) created the opening 12 minutes of the film using over 3285 aquarelle paintings. Harrison Ford's acting is better in watercolor form.
