Sweet Tattoos from Raphaël Trovato

Tattoo // Sunday, November 18, 2012
Raphaël Trovato is a French tattooer who works out of Fresh Ink Tattoo in Mulhouse, France. Mixing traditional imagery with some off-beat Pop-ish designs, Raphaël incorporates bright jewel tones into all of his shading that give his tattoos a wonderfully graphic and saccharine vibe. We have a gallery of some of our favorites--from pipe-smoking cats to more ethereal ladies--after the jump.

Drying of Thoughts by Lido Rico

Juxtapoz // Saturday, November 17, 2012
Lidó Rico suffers and, as in his paradoxical imaginary, he enjoys building his own body, his process has a little bit of performance or action painting.(45) What we ha ve isn’t the remaining, and nor the process is something unessential, on the contrary, immersion and the final sculptural body, the act of getting into plaster and the figure coming out of the wall are, in all senses, the same work of art....

A little sneak attack from our December 2012 cover artist, Conor Harrington, as he painted a new mural in Mexico City without the fanfare of festival or exhibition. The Works of Joshua Brettell

Juxtapoz // Saturday, November 17, 2012
Joshua Brettell is the drummer for metal band ILSA, and the artwork he creates for the band's releases, full of shrieking skulls, bats and things that go bump in the night, is fittingly dark and ominous. Frightening subject matter aside, Brettell's black and white drawings make an impact with their fine linework and striking compositions. Brettell is based in Hyattsville, Maryland.
