drkm is exhibiting an exclusive West Coast premier of legendary Chicago-based photojournalist, Art Shay. Art Shay's photography career spans nearly seven decades and 30,000 photographs. The prints will be on display through April 13th, 2013.

David Choe Update: Mexico City Collab with Dhear, and South Central LA Project

Our old friend David Choe (that full issue with David we did is a bible of how to do art on your own terms) has been extremely busy over the past few months. You could start with his date night with Aubrey Plaza if you wanted to. But Dave is currently in Mexico City, painting murals and collaborating with a current Jux favorite, Dhear. Before then, David hosted an art workshop with the children of South Central, Los Angeles with aims to complete a 40 foot wall surrounding their playground at A Place Called Home (APCH).

Musically and aesthetically, British Sea Power have always treaded a fine line between pop and experimentation, whether playing a full concert in a cave or writing a catchy tune about a melting iceberg. What we are trying to say is that they are really good. On April 1, BSP will release Machineries of Joy via Rough Trade, and their first video for the record features bikes, the countryside, and a girl who may be lost.

New drawings and painting from Interesni Kazki

Whether it is large-scale murals that cover entire buildings or small drawings on paper, the highly imaginative work of Interesni Kazki is always impressive. This new drawing and painting is entitled “In Forest Wilds” and displays a mythical scene from an alternative reality.

Portraits Made by Injecting Bubble Wrap with Paint

New York-based artist Bradley Hard injects each individual bubble of a piece of bubble wrap with acrylic paint to create these portraits. As the paint is injected into the bubbles, excess paint will drip down the back. He surgically removes these from the backside of the plastic to reveal an impression of the work.

Hypnotizing Collages of Staircases

We are really enjoying Korean artist Jiyen Lee's collages of people ascending and descending staircases. The Escher-like collages are mesmerizing and infinite, with no identifiable beginning or end.

World's Largest Inflated Structure Without a Skeleton

This 90-meter x 50-meter structure by artist Christo is the largest indoor sculpture in history, holding a volume of 177,000 cubic meters. Installed at the Gasometer Oberhausen in Germany, Big Air Package, has an air lock to allow visitors to enter the installation.
