Music // Friday, June 07, 2013
It's no secret that the Juxtapoz office is a big fan of Madlib. In fact, we may or may not be attending his Welcome to Zamrock show tonight in San Francisco... As it's rare to see an interview with the man and he has gotten us excited about the prospect of new Quasimoto, Madvillain, and J Dilla has an unreleased Jazz album? We thought we would post this video by Tom Stokes of Madlib, aka Quasimoto, aka Beat Konducta, aka DJ Lord Such, aka.... at the Medicine Show in London!

The cover features the attention-grabbing statement: "The World According to China".  Editor Rick Stengel was quoted on TV as saying, "I actually think it's the most beautiful cover we've ever done in our history." 3D Miniature Paper Architecture by Ingrid Siliakus

Juxtapoz // Friday, June 07, 2013
Amsterdam-based artist Ingrid Siliakus' 3-dimensional pieces incorporate the structure and manner of pop-up books, some even collapsing into a 2-dimensional piece. Citing M.C. Escher and Antoni Gaudi as influences, Siliakus' miniature works of architecture are constructed with an almost dizzying intricacy.

Drawings by Nick Howard

Juxtapoz // Friday, June 07, 2013
We are enjoying the drawings Minneapolis-based artist Nick Howard this morning. Howard initially developed the cast of characters that appear in his drawings as "representations of our darker and more monstrous nature." As his work has evolved, "they have revealed more of their humanity within, reflecting a wider range of human experiences from the myopic and controlling to the clear and vulnerable."

Dutch artist Joris Kuipers coated depron foam with acrylic paint for his most recent works at Galerie Jaap Sleper in Utrecth and Het Plafond in Rotterdam. The suspended pieces appear like a whirling storm of clouds or maybe they are flowers?
