Lets argue about Obama. Lets argue about Shatner. Lets not argue, lets just bask.
I have a special love for William Shatner. He reminds me of Weird Al Yankovic, an entertainer that has reinvented himself three decades and running. Always timely, always iconic. William Shatner, known by most as a TV and movie actor, has also had a psychedelic and indelible footprint in spoken word in the late 60's. Need proof?
When my friend Sweatpants approached me about doing a One Hour Revealed as he painted an homage to President Obama, my Shatner-sense spiked and I recalled this great song I had sitting dusty on the shelves that seemed to fit the scene like a bloody glove. The Mannequins are there to provide the user with a sense of waiting, of held breath as we watch the Obama legacy unfold. The cameos by people and passing vehicles shows the the world in its spinning advancing pace happening outside and satellite to the actions of President Obama. For some I think the wait is making us WeARy, but I choose to believe that the change I subscribed to with our president is but a few media headlines down the road.
The watch is 3:22, the artist is Chris Struckman, aka Sweatpants. Filmed in Oakland Ca.
