George Brett qualifies as a childhood hero of mine. To understand this you have to know that I grew up in Billings Montana. Which is the most populated city in Montana at about 89,847, and that by all degrees makes it the metropolis of the high prairie. That's a distinction few cities can hold. As a kid in Billings I remember being taken to AAA baseball games, as Billings was the rookie league for the Kansas City Royals. George Brett was the king of the Royals. Still is.
George may qualify as the first person I saw other people revere, they talked about "when George was here..." and how he "changed the game". And then they got me a Mountain Dew.
My memories about George were set in stone. Until this was made.
Now they are better memories. They are now Double Tapered memories.
