After years of being locked up in solitude with only the voices in his head to entertain him, Greg "Craola" Simkins emerged into a world of even greater monsters than the ones under his bed. In an effort to get back to the places in his head, Greg paints. Finally giving faces to the voices and a world for them to live in.

I painted this piece live during the release of my "Here Stands Matt Riddle" prints and "Lonely Knight" skate decks at Gallery 1988: Los Angeles.  After the event, I went back to my studio and finished the painting which is now available for auction with all proceeds going to The American Cancer Society (in memory of my dear frien, Lawrence Karp). Click here for more info.

A Type 1 Diabetes Group Exhibition Benefit
Saturday, August 15th, 2009 from 7-9pm

I'll have an ink drawing available for sale at the opening of the "PRE-EXISTING CONDITION" group exhibition to increase awareness about Type 1 Diabetes and to raise money to fund research for a cure. The majority of the proceeds will be gifted to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation. All of us artists who are participating share a connection to diabetes (my dad has it) or they know a friend or relative who has the disease.
