Juxtapoz Blog

Hera is a female artist, born in Germany, in 1981. Since 2004 she has melted her narrative, sketchy figures with the photorealistic spray-paint techniques of Akut to Herakut. She believes that any piece of art is just the result of an eager urge to make someone out there notice that you are on this earth too, and have the brains and hands to prove it! Proof for her own existence, she has left on walls and shows all over Europe, also in Los Angeles, San Francisco and New York, and in Mexico City; or in books like “Graffiti Women”, “Mural Art”, or her own book “Herakut – The Perfect Merge”.

I wish more street artists were using text like this. Know Hope does sometimes and Booker/Reader/Boans/ReadMoreBooks and You Go Girl have a message to spread with their graffiti, but those examples seem pretty rare.
