the neighborhoods show at minna opens tomorrow, and it looks pretty good from what ive seen.
i was given permission to put a mural sized cutout in the center of my neighborhood on the side of the bar "grant and green". again, traded art for free beer for life. my piece for the show is this giant cutout. below is my sketch for the piece, and a blurry iphone shot of the finished painting. will be mounted in my neighborhood following the show.

this is 6 feet by four, and took almost five days all total. there are two layers of cutout wood. i like the sea lions, sometimes deep in the night, i can hear them howling. they live on the piers about six blocks away. (sorry for the crummy photo) its at minna, go check the show.
this is grant and green. it will be on the side under the lettering. big thanks to christine the bartender, scott the manager, and john the owner. im going to mount a picture of my face next to the cash register that says "this dude always gets free beer" the barter system for 2009 is still in full effect.
