At the beginning of the month, Lucas and I, as NOZ.ART, were invited to make a speech and review some artists’ portfolios at an art event in Fortaleza, at the other side of Brazil. We live in Porto Alegre, in the southern state of the country, and we’re nearer to Uruguay and Argentina than to Sao Paulo, for example.  And Fortaleza is in the state of Ceara, at the top and right side of the country, very near to Portugual. We were supposed to take a 7 hours flight, including all the airport time. But it lasted more than 14 hours in the end.

Arriving there we met the artists and producers Weaver Lima and Franklin Stein. Together they have a company called ARTZ, which represent some artists and organize exhibitions. Both Weaver and Franklin have their feedback on alternative comics, and now they produce a very cool comic’s event called Monstra, which presents the old generation of comics masters, such as Fabio Zimbres and Jaca, and new talents, Rafael Sicca, Saulo Tiago among others.  Weaver is also at our current exhibition at Fita Tape gallery.

I’ll write more about our Fortaleza trip and all the artists we met on a future post. For now, check some pictures from Weaver's artwork and from Monstra Comix exhibition. Unfortunately Monstra happened from last November until February, and we couldn’t visit it in person.
